Welcome to my act of total self-absorption. As the total suggests this is about men in bondage peril. Specifically this is my memoir of my life’s fetish surrounding the images of men, tied up, gagged, and in danger. Yeah, sounds exciting, doesn’t it? I have always been fascinated by hearing stories and snippets about how guys got started with this particular fetish. So I will tell my stories, in the hope it will persuade you to tell yours.
For those who may not be familiar with this fetish that I am calling bondage peril, I will try an enlighten you. Number one, it involves a man or men (yes, this is a gay blog). Number two, it involves bondage. The man is rendered completely helpless thanks to the many ropes holding him in one place and the gag which is silencing his cries. Number three, the unfortunate man (or fortunate in my eyes) is in a deathtrap. Some device or change in his environment will cause him great harm if does not figure out how to free himself from the ropes. The classic term “damsel in distress” fits the bill except only men are involved. See, pretty simple.
If you are still reading, at least the fetish has not turned you away yet, and hopefully my writing will not soon bring about that same result.
I encourage you to comment on my ramblings to your heart’s content, although please try and keep them more or less on topic.
This is the original comment from the old blog:

Truely Jeff is a kindred spirit and it was he who helped me on the road to creating Ned in Peril becoming a reality from a series of loosely drawn images and odd pages of Comic Strip.
There is something about seeing a young man, bound heavy with ropes and gagged fully staring a demonic demise with eyes wide with alarm and horror that ignites within me a thrill!
Just as a start here is a list of some of my favorite perils as seen in various movies and tv Series,
1. Roger Corman’s The Pit and the Pendulem, where the actor John Kerr is chained upon a stone slab, gagged by Vincent price, and then watches helplessly as that blade decends! Pure Magic.
2. Sexton Blake and the Hooded Terror- And old British Black and white vintage movie where Secton blake is tied to chair in a room that has been set alight. Alas his gag is romoved just prior to this. Now If I were the Director!
3. The Lone Wolf Strikes Again- Another Vintage holiwood pick, remarkable for Lloyd Bridges forst cinematic role, and what a role- He plays a young inventor who is kidnapped by villains and he’s bound and gagged thoughout much of his screen time in the movie. Finally he is left bound and gagged in a train Box Car that will be filled with deadly gas if opened from the outside! How can he escape?
4. One from my childhood- Fantastic Journey, about a team of scientists who travel across different dimensions in the Bermuda Triangle- The youngest in the group, a teen called Scott gets himself kidnapped by fugitive criminals from the future, He is tied and gagged to a chair in their space craft before abandoning it on and they rig it so that if any one enters their craft and steps on the floor, it will set of an explosive device. Scott can only watch helplessly as his rescuers attempt to rescue, unaware they will spell doom to all.
There are others that I recall from Comics, magazines and books I will share shortly.
To conclude a big thank you to jeff for creating this forum where we kindred spirits can chat.
Aw Kev, as always you are too generous. Thanks for the early peril scene descriptions! I now have a new “holy grail” scene to search and long for:The Lone Wolf. I have never heard of that gem before, but I am now on the prowl!

I believe that images of stills of said film were on Ropermike’s Men in Trouble site, located in the pre 1950′s section. Check out the doomed heroes gag, quite a beaut!
You are quite correct! I’ve always enjoyed those caps of that scene, but never knew there was an actual peril involved. I look forward to tracking that movie down!

Yes the only niggle I had with the scene is that his wrists are bound in front of him and at one point it clearly looks like he could get that gag off with ease. He does a nice bit of struggling though as the lone wolf – the debonair detective and former reformed safe cracker tries to beat open the rail box car without unleashing the deadly gas inside
